Despite the weather, sport has been good in Cheshire over the winter. South View ran a good 148cm pony premier which saw Darby Ward the victor on both days in the John Whitaker International Winter JA Classic. Hickstead bound for the Royal International Horse Show are Jemma Hartley and James Shore who took the top two places in the Winter Novice qualifier held recently at Aintree.
After a gap of a couple of years, we are running a spring ball at The Holiday Inn, Haydock on Friday 16 March, 7.30pm for 8pm. While Haydock is not strictly in Cheshire, this Hotel offered the most competitive package which has enabled us to price tickets very competitively at £30 per head. A huge bonus is rooms are available at the ‘special’ price of £52 per room for bed and breakfast.
We are delighted that international Showjumping is coming back to Cheshire, as Charles and Linda Britton are again hosting The Charles Stanley British Masters. Put that date in your diary June 28 – July 1
As always, if you have any comments good or bad, or come up with any ideas for training, or you wish to join us on the committee, please contact Sue Barratt or any other committee member. This is your Area, so please help us to help you.
