WALES

RIDER

Matthew Broome (72927) - Unopposed

Proposed by Gemma Johnsey Plumley (86488)  Seconded by Philip Scandrett (16602)

Resume:  Having represented Great Britain on Junior and Young Rider teams and now producing young horses, I feel confident that I can speak for riders across the spectrum.  I meet many riders at our own shows, as well as many others that I travel to and strongly believe that I can represent their views on the Members Council.  One thing that I would like to improve is getting Country fairs and Agricultural shows back into showjumping.  They are invaluable for producing young horses to go on to compete at County and International level.  I would consider myself a very approachable person and enjoy talking to people about our sport.  We need to start listening to the ‘normal’ person and not just those that post on forums!

OFFICIAL

Steve Lynch (68857) - Unopposed

Proposed by Heather Jenkins (104735) Seconded by Jenny Williams (98381)

Resume:  I have been a member of British Showjumping for over 15 years.  I am a Judge and commentator and attend over 100 show days per year all over the UK.  I was Area 35 Representative for 4 years, standing down from the position at the beginning of 2012 and am also a Steward of the Association.  I am pleased to confirm that both Area Representatives (Area 35 – South Wales) and (Area 36 – West Wales) are acting as proposer and seconder and I believe that should I be successful in my bid to represent Wales, I will bring a balanced and experienced view to the Members Council.

SHOW ORGANISER

James Broome (110501) - Total number of votes: 16

Proposed by Steve Lynch (68857)  Seconded by Andrew Davies (30857)

Resume:  As Organiser of Wales and West Shows in Chepstow, I deal with riders, owners, trainers, judges, stewards and sponsors on a regular basis, giving me a wide range of opinions to represent to British Showjumping.  Having lived and breathed the sport since a child, I am passionate about our sport.  My personal campaign is for show organisers to offer a suitable range of classes, run under appropriate rules, for riders to continually improve and also produce their horses and ponies towards their full potential.  If elected, I will use my experience to ensure that any initiatives launched are financially viable for organisers.  This will mean they have a much greater chance of success.  My firm but fair attitude will enable me to offer balanced opinions and not be afraid to speak up if there is something that needs to be said.

Jimmy Maguire (67962) - Total number of votes: 14
