Nicole Lockhead-Anderson speeds to victory in the International Stairway League at South of England Show

At the third leg of the 2024 International Stairway Series, held at the South of England Show, it was Nicole Lockhead Anderson who sped to victory on Imagine H, Melanie Davies’ 11-year-old gelding.

Fifteen starters embarked on the challenge of Ben Townley’s 1.50m course which saw five jump clear and advance to the jump-off. Four combinations produced the desired double clear and so results would come down to the clock. Nicole set her targets high having taken top spot in the Area Trial earlier in the show and tackled the shorted and heighted jump-off course with gusto, skilfully steering Imagine H over the finish line in a time of 46.71 seconds.

Helen Tredwell and Independence TN couldn’t quite catch the on form pair, finishing 2.55 seconds off the pace whilst Will Fletcher slotted Iwalinde into third, just 0.48 seconds in arrears.

The International Stairway takes place across a number of county shows where winning combinations accrue league points that count towards the Final which takes place at the British Showjumping National Championships in August at Stoneleigh Park. The series culminates with a high-profile championship where, not only is the National Champion crowned, but three Horse of the Year Show International Wild Cards are up for grabs.

The International Stairway Series is supported by the British Showjumping Business Partnership, which includes partners ClipMyHorse.TV, Charles Owen, and HorseQuest.
