Abbie Bevan Takes the Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker Incorporating the 7 Year Old Championship Qualifier at Northcote Stud

Friday, 31st May, saw Northcote Stud host the third Events Through a Lens Talent Seeker Qualifier of the 2024 season. A field of 87 horse and rider combinations entered the competition, hoping to secure a top spot and qualify for the Horse of the Year Show Final in October.
The first round proved challenging, with only 15 riders advancing to the jump-off after riding clear within the time allowed, where Abbie Bevan, aboard Colin Bevan’s Fabiola Fairy, jumped the winning round. One of four clear rounds, Abbie and Fabiola Fairy clinched victory with a time of 38.70 seconds, just 0.69 seconds faster than the second-placed Carmen Edwards and Feel the Wind Semilly.
This event marked Fabiola Fairy V’s second British Showjumping show of 2024. Under Abbie's guidance, they have made the most of their time in the ring, having won the National 1.30m Open at Southview Equestrian Centre in March. Their qualification for the Horse of the Year Show won't be their first appearance together, as they competed in the Senior Newcomers Championship back in 2017 when Abbie was 19 and Fabiola Fairy V was 7 years old.
Fiona Horne’s Double De Muze T.L, ridden by Jordan Thompson, secured third place with a clear jump-off round in 40.66 seconds. This combination also earned the accolade of the highest-placed 7-year-old.
