Tatiane Mauree and Madison Heath claim wins in the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers at Aintree Equestrian Centre

The 2020 Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers got off to a flying start this weekend at the 148cm Pony Premier Show at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

The qualifiers saw all riders focused on securing a top three qualifying place for the prestigious Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Championship, which will take place at SouthView Competition & Training Centre in Cheshire across the weekend of the 17th – 19th April 2020.

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Saturday 18th January 2020

From a field of twenty-three combinations, Newbury based fifteen year-old Tatiane Mauree clinched the top spot in the first of the qualifiers with Arlina Mauree’s 10 year-old mare Horseabout Zibu. The pair produced three foot-perfect clears and took the win in the final jump-off with a time of 32.19 seconds, beating their closest rivals by 0.65 seconds.

2nd Thomas Francis-Jones & Kiltormer Hero - 0/0/0 – 32.84 seconds
3rd Rachel Proudley & Beech Comber - 0/0/0 – 35.44 seconds

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Sunday 19th January 2020

Sunday’s qualifier saw a smaller field of seventeen come forward to take on Course Designer Ian Clark’s eleven fence first round track. Four completed the first round with a clear with only three progressing on to the final round. Fifteen year-old Madison Heath from Nantwich, Cheshire topped the table with Sarah Williams’ 10 year-old mare Flavia. They pulled three clears out of the bag and crossed the final finish line in 29.33 seconds, just 0.28 of a second faster than second placed Tabitha Kyle.

1st Madison Heath & Flavia – 0/0/0 – 29.66 seconds
2nd Tabitha Kyle & Gangnam Style – 0/0/0 – 29.94 seconds
3rd Henry Squibb & Kilcurry Dawn - 0/0/8 – 38.37 seconds
