Gold Development Programme

Applications for the 2024/2025 Gold Development Programme are now open!

British Showjumping, in conjunction with Sport England, is delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2024/2025 Gold Development Programme.

The Programme, which runs annually and is funded by Sport England, intends to support riders aiming to establish themselves at the 1.40m -1.50m level, as well as supporting riders that are aiming to be selected for World Class Performance Pathway Programme. Applications should be sent to sportteam@britishshowjumping.co.uk with the application form which can be found here. Applications will close on Monday, 11th November 2024.

The first training camp will be held at British Showjumping’s National Training Centre (NTC) on the 4th and 5th December, 2024. During these camps, athletes will participate in training sessions with the lead coaches for the programme, Matt Lanni and Nicola McLeish. Each camp will also have unmounted sessions to include saddlers, farriers, equine physiotherapists, rider strength and conditioning, clean sport talks, plus much more.

As part of the Programme, riders will also receive support from the coaches at UK International shows.

Sasha Erander, participant of the 203/2024 Gold Development Programme said: “The experience has been invaluable. Personally, I have really developed my understanding and riding for Grand Prix classes and especially the 2* ranking classes thanks to the opportunities and training from the Gold Development Programme. The training pushed me to another level that I would not have recieved elsewhere. It also helped me to strengthen my team on the ground and at home. I now have a fantastic competition farrier who has aided my horse’s performance this year. I couldn’t recommend this programme enough and wish we could do it again this year.’
