British Riding Club Members to be acknowledged at the Club League Championships

For the second year running, the Club League Championships will be hosted during the British Showjumping National Championships and we are pleased to announce that we are once again working with British Riding Clubs (BRC) to acknowledge BRC Members competing in British Showjumping Club competitions.

The Club Championships are split into four height categories, 0.70m, 0.80m, 0.90m and 1.00m, for both horses and ponies and the highest placed BRC Member in each of the eight Championships will be awarded a BRC rosette and sash to acknowledge their accomplishment. Each rider will also go on to be featured in Rider Magazine.

Club Membership is specifically for members competing between 0.70m – 1.00m and as part of the ongoing alignment between BRC and British Showjumping, Club classes can be incorporated into Riding Club competitions.

The National Championships will take place at the National Agricultural & Exhibition Centre, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire from the 9th – 14th August 2016 and the Club Championships provide Club Members with the opportunity to not only focus on heading their regional league table within the height category that they are comfortable in, but to also aim on qualifying for their respective Championship with the goal of claiming a National Championship title.

There are a total of eight regions spanning the length and breadth of the country and the top twenty from each of the eight league tables, in all of the four height categories, will qualify for their respective National Club Championship. The 2015 - 2016 regional leagues ran from 1st June 2015 to 30th June 2016 and riders were eligible to qualify for more than one height category.

When talking about this alignment, Laura Sanger, Manager & Head of British Riding Clubs at The British Horse Society said “It is fantastic to be working alongside British Showjumping once again in order to acknowledge BRC members who are attending the Club League Championships.”

Justine Naylor, British Showjumping National Director of Sport added “We are delighted to be working with British Riding Clubs on this exciting initiative as part of the ever strengthening relationship between us. The British Showjumping National Championships will provide the perfect platform for recognising British Riding Club Members’ achievements and we are looking forward to a good few days of competition.”

Club Membership is just £30 per annum for both horse and rider and has proven to be extremely popular for those wishing to compete within a club environment or perhaps using it as a stepping stone before deciding to progress as a national member. Club Membership also allows for full member benefits including access to the incredibly successful Academy structure and training programmes in addition to enjoying £30m public liability cover along with the reassurance that members will be competing across properly designed courses and within a safe and structured environment.
