Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship Qualifier at Ingliston Equestrian Centre

Ingliston Equestrian Centre in Bishopton, Renfrewshire held the third and fourth Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship qualifiers this weekend (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2013) during their popular Pony Premier Show.

The Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship qualifiers attracted a total of 41 starters across the two days of competition, with 20 starters on Saturday and 21 on Sunday. All of the starting combinations were hoping to claim one of the three direct qualifying places on offer for the Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship. The Championship will be held at the Charles Stanley British Masters 3* International Horse Show (4th – 7th July 2013) and this year’s winner of the Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship will be presented with the newly developed Fairfax Jump saddle.

Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship Qualifier – Saturday 2nd February 2013
On Saturday, from the 20 starting combinations, six made it through to the final jump off and the overall winner was 15 year-old Millie Allen from Cleveland who was one of only three combinations to achieve a treble clear.

Millie achieved her treble clear on board her father’s (Peter) 10 year-old bay mare, Song Girl, in a time of 43.28 seconds. Following on from Millie’s success on Song Girl in the Fairfax Winter JA Classic Championship qualifiers at South View Equestrian Centre (2nd and 3rd February 2013), the combination had already qualified for the Championship, meaning that the qualification place was passed down the line.

Second place was taken by 13 year-old Charlie Dawson from North Humberside on Maradonna, a 13 year-old grey gelding owned by Carolyn Nevinson. This combination rode their treble clear in a time of 47.51 seconds to guarantee a top two finish and a Championship place.

Millie Allen also took third place in this class, this time on Scoubidou IV, a 15 year-old chestnut gelding, again owned by her father, Peter. Millie achieved her second treble clear of the class in a time of 49.12 seconds.

Due to Millie having already qualified Song Girl for the Championship, the combination in fourth also achieved their Championship qualification and this went to Emma Shingles and ABC Juri.
