Wednesday 16 October 2019

Keith Shore made the trip from Northwich, Cheshire a worthwhile one when he won the Winter Grand Prix held on Sunday evening during the Winter Classic Show at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool. Keith piloted Nicholas Morgan’s Djoel, an 11 year-old Dutch bred gelding by Hamlet whom he has partnered for just over a year, to victory.
Rafael Suarez set a tough track for the Winter Grand Prix as only seven of the forty-six initial starters achieved a clear first round with three producing a double clear. Keith and Djoel kept their lines tight whilst producing a careful round to come home in 44.32 seconds.
Charlotte Arnold from Stockton-On-Tees took the runners up place. She steered her own 7 year-old Plot Blue sired mare Leestone Blue Voltet around the track in 45.48 seconds. Close behind in third place was Genene Burnett and her own Vanda Gucci, a 10 year-old German bred gelding, they produced the third and final double clear in 45.93 seconds.
