BEF reappoint Non-Executive Director of Equine Development

British Equestrian Federation (BEF), the national governing body for horse sport in the UK, has reappointed Jane Nixon as Non-Executive Director of Equine Development.
Chairman of the BEF Board, Keith Taylor welcomed the reappointment; “I am thrilled to have Jane reappointed on the board, she has bought a wealth of knowledge during the last three years and has been instrumental in assisting the Equine Development team.”
During Jane’s time on the board, she has used her veterinarian expertise to assist the development of the BEF biosecurity policy and to coordinate member body activity within this area. Jane has also been an interim facilitator for the early development of the British Breeders’ Network, which is an emerging body seeking to meet the needs of both breeders and studbooks alike in the promotion, sales and marketing of the British-bred sport horse.
On her reappointment, Jane commented; “I am thrilled to have been appointed to a second three-year term as BEF Non-Executive Director of Equine Development. My passion is best management of the young developing horse through to adulthood and beyond to ensure fitness for purpose and I hope during my second term to further this ideal. Also I aim to assist increasing awareness, through BEF central support by working especially with Member Bodies, to promote better understanding and prevention of emerging equine infectious diseases by employing improved biosecurity”
