BRITISH 1-2 IN 36,000€ VIMEIRO GRAND PRIX
Monday 07 June 2010

British riders claimed three of the top four places in the 36,000€ Grand Prix held in Vimeiro, Portugal, yesterday, two of them jumping the only double clear rounds of the entire competition.
Tim Stockdale from Roade, Northamptonshire took top honours riding Colin Garratt’s nine year-old bay gelding Fresh Direct Kalico Bay. Fresh from their double clear round in the Lisbon Nations Cup last weekend, the combination once again produced two fault free rounds, to take victory from William Funnell.
William, from Dorking in Surrey riding the Billy Stud’s nine year-old brown British bred stallion Billy Congo, also jumped two foot perfect rounds, but crossed the finishing line over one a half seconds slower than his fellow team mate, and had to settle for the runner-up spot.
Laura Renwick from Maldon in Essex, riding John and Marian Renwick’s nine year-old dark bay gelding, Roller Coaster III finished the two rounds with a total of four penalties to take fourth place.
