Clare Williamson Jumps to Victory in KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre

Jumping to victory among a strong field was Clare Williamson and she successfully took on the challenge of the final KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round of the season at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre in Gloucestershire. Her success saw her take a place in the Championship Final which be held during the British Showjumping National Championships next week.
The class began with forty eight combinations battling it out over the thirteen fence track, all with the hope of progressing through to the jump off. The first round saw many combinations fall by the wayside as just seventeen clears were produced. The numbers dropped further until nine resilient pairs were left to battle it out for a treble clear against the clock.
Clare from Halesowen, West Midlands rode into first place after producing a faultless performance on board her own 6 year-old bay gelding, Spring Fair. This pair crossed the finish line on their treble clear score in 34.83 seconds.
Second place was scooped up by Sophie Heaven from Cardiff riding Cataka, a 5 year-old iron grey mare owned by Glynn Slater. This pair were hot on Clare’s heels, posting their treble clear just a fraction of a second slower in 35.40 seconds.
The podium was rounded off by 17 year-old Rachel Vicary from Crediton, Devon and she was on board Fjara, a 6 year-old chestnut mare owned by Marysia Orzazewska. This combination also produced a treble clear and did so in 41.54 seconds.
With another combination also achieving a treble clear, a total of four combinations now go forward to the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2016 will be hosted at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire during the 9th - 14th August.
