Devon’s Chloe Jarman Wins the May NAF Shining Star Award
Thursday 13 June 2013

The NAF Shining Star Award for May 2013 has been given to 15 year-old Chloe Jarman from Devon, a lively and dedicated member of the British Showjumping Devon Junior Academy. Chloe has been awarded the NAF Shining Star because of the enthusiasm and team spirit that she has shown during her time as a member of her local Junior Academy.
Mandy Frost, Lead Coach for the British Showjumping Devon Junior Academy, nominated Chloe for the NAF Shining Star Award. Mandy has known Chloe for some time and these are her reasons for nominating her “Chloe is a dedicated and hardworking active member of the British Showjumping Devon Junior Academy. Chloe is a great listener, a pleasure to coach and she is often found in the collecting ring helping her fellow competitors. Chloe was selected for the academy team at Devon County Show, but unfortunately, her pony Savannah Sunrise Sensation injured itself whilst out in the field. However, Chloe was at the show to support the team, which I feel shows great strength of character and team spirit.”
Chloe joined British Showjumping back in 2009 and since being a member, she has progressed from competing in British Novice classes to achieving creditable wins at Foxhunter level. Chloe was delighted to learn that she had been awarded the NAF Shining Star Award “The British Showjumping Devon Junior Academy provides me with great training opportunities available and I want to thank everyone who has been helping and supporting me, especially Mandy Frost. My fellow academy members, along with everyone else who supports me at shows, have been amazing, especially when everything has not gone to plan. These people really do make showjumping even more enjoyable and I’m so pleased to have won the NAF Shining Star Award.
“This is my final year on ponies, so I am looking forward to competing on them throughout 2013. I am also going to continue to progress through the NAF Pony Five Star Performance Awards Programme and am aiming for Level 3 next.”
Tracey Lloyd, Marketing Manager for NAF commented “Chloe’s hard work ethic along with the outstanding support she offers her peers equates to a well-deserved NAF Shining Star Award. Congratulations Chloe.’
The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
