Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at Inchcoonans Equestrian Centre

Inchcoonans Equestrian Centre in Errol, Perthshire hosted a Dodson & Horrell National Amateur 0.90cm Second Round and a 1.10m Second Round Sunday 6th October 2013. All of entrants were hoping to collect one of the twelve direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 17th November 2013.

Five combinations started out in this 0.90cm second round and from these starters, four combinations made it into the jump off and subsequently qualified for the Championship Final.

Linda Moffat (47) from Crieff, Perthshire took the win in this second round on her own 17 year-old bay gelding, Tiny Dynamite. The combination produced a fantastic double clear in a fast time of 41.66 seconds to take the top spot.

Second place went to 16 year-old Kerrie Ligget from Stirlingshire who was on board Antrim Cash, an 11 year-old bay mare owned by Pamela Ligget. This combination also produced a fast double clear, stopping the clock on 41.74 seconds.

Third place was taken by 15 year-old Leona Blacklaws from Kincardineshire. Leona was on Valdis, an 11 year-old bay gelding owned by Beckie Blacklaws. They achieved the third of four double clears in this second round, eventually clocking a time of 45.30 seconds.

One more rider also went on to achieve their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm National Amateur Championship Final.

4th Kerry Brown & Artic Patch – 0/0 – 46.50 seconds

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round.
Of the six starting combinations that came forward to contest this second round, three went on to the jump off.

Only one combination went on to secure a double clear and this was produced by 33 year-old Suzanne Lumgair from Forfar, Angus on Jack Up, an 8 year-old grey gelding owned by Scott Campbell. The combination achieved their immaculate double clear in 48.85 seconds and in doing so, secured a place in the Championship Final.

Rachel-Ann Clark (14) from Ayrshire took second place in this second round on Tiffany III, an 11 year-old bay mare owned by Fiona Clark. This combination collected an unfortunate 4 faults on the jump off course, but their time of 46.04 seconds ensured that a top two finish was theirs.

Following on from the 0.90cms second round that was held earlier on in the afternoon, Kerrie Ligget was also competing in this 1.10m second round, again on Antrim Cash. The combination took third this time around after collecting 6 faults in 53.75 seconds.
