Dodson & Horrell 0.95m and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at Pencoed College

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at Pencoed College near Bridgend proved to be competitive as many talented combinations came forward to compete across the 0.95m and 1.10m Second Rounds.
Qualifying for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool between the 14th – 19th November, was at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Taking her place at the top of the leader board with an outstanding double clear was Caitlin Hamilton from Cardiff, South Glamorgan. Riding her 12 year-old bay mare Darcos Chikara, this combination delivered a turn of speeded in the tight seven horse jump off to cross the finish line in an unbeatable time of 30.66 seconds.
Claudia Hegarty from Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan guided Rachael Morris’ 9 year-old black mare in to second place as they achieved a double clear in 33.20 seconds.
Scooping third place and the final double clear of the class was Benjamin James from Midsomer Norton, Radstock riding his own 11 year-old bay grey gelding, Cardinal Jim. This combination stopped the clock in 37.20 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round
Claiming their place in the jump off with a speedy first round, Charlotte Bowman from Swansea, West Glamorgan went on to prove her consistency with Mandy Bowman’s 9 year-old bay mare, Lux Ella. This combination didn’t falter as they took on the newly shortened course, deliver a stylish double clear in just 32.41 seconds.
Natalie Barratt from Aberdare challenged with her 12 year-old dark bay gelding, Forest Vant Nachtegalehof, posting a double clear in 34.65 seconds to take second place.
Third place went to Theresa Anderson from Credenhill, Hereford riding her own 8 year-old grey gelding, Colt V after they pick up the final double clear of the class in 35.01 seconds.
