Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round at Port Royal Equestrian Centre

Port Royal Equestrian Centre in Holme on Spalding Moor, York was the host venue for a Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round on Sunday 20th October 2013. The second round was contested by eighteen eligible combinations, thirteen of whom went through into the jump off.
With only twelve direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 17th November 2013, the jump off proved to be hotly contested. Seven combinations went on to finish with a double clear, whilst five combinations went on to collect four faults, therefore dictating the top twelve places.
The eventual winner of this second round was 32 year-old Danielle Perez from Great Altcar, Lancashire on her own 18 year-old chestnut gelding, Novex. Danielle finished with nearly two seconds in hand over the second placed combination after delivering a double clear in 34.34 seconds.
Second place went to 17 year-old Amy Jimmison from South Yorkshire on Serena B, a 14 year-old bay mare owned by Nadine Jimmison. This combination completed their double clear in 36.27 seconds and in doing so, secured a top two finish.
Sophie Corney (17) from South Humberside took third place on her own 13 year-old brown mare, Stanhopes Good Friday. The combination delivered yet another immaculate clear to finish in the top three with a time of 37.58 seconds.
Another nine also went on to achieve their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Championship Final.
