Emma Sargeant dominates the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at Hanbury Countryside Show

The hotly contested KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at Hanbury Countryside Show in Redditch, Worcestershire saw Emma Sargeant dominate the top of the leader board when she took home first and second place.

The goal for each and every rider was to secure a place in the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final which is to be held at the British Showjumping National Championships in August and all forty starters began the class with high hopes. After two nail biting rounds, ten combinations were left to take on the newly shortened course with the aim of producing a treble clear.

Emma Sargeant from Gayton, Staffordshire proved to be on winning form as she delivered a unbeatably fast treble clear on board Thorncliff, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Margot Schumacher. From an early draw, this pair put forward a solid marker when they crossed the finish line in 48.56 seconds.

With the only other treble clear of the class, Emma scooped second place on her own 5 year-old chestnut gelding, Tedwood. As the second combination into the arena, this partnership left all the fences standing in a time of 50.19 seconds.
