GREAT BRITAIN SECOND IN ROTTERDAM AND RETAINS SECOND PLACE ON LEADERBOARD
Friday 18 June 2010

Great Britain has finished in second place in the fourth leg of the 2010 Meydan FEI Nations Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands this afternoon.
An outstanding clear round from British pathfinder Peter Charles with Olga White’s Murka’s Pom d’Ami, followed by rounds of just a single time fault from both David McPherson and Chamberlain Z and John Whitaker riding Rebecca Stones’ Peppermill, saw the British contingent finish the first round on just two penalties, in second place behind the American’s on a zero score. Scott Brash riding Stanley Brash’s Intertoy Z were extremely unlucky to finish the first round with four faults.
The American Team held their form, with clear rounds coming thick and fast and managed to take victory on a zero score. Superb second round performances from the British squad saw Peter yet again leave all of the fences in tact, but sadly crossing the finishing line outside of the time allowed, meant he clocked up a single time penalty. David unfortunately lowered a single pole for just four faults, as did Scott, whilst John pulled a classy foot perfect clear round out of the bag to secure second place for his country.
