Harry Charles scores a double in this week’s International round-up
Monday 30 October 2023

A winner earlier in the week, Harry Charles maintained his form to land the top-billed 3* Grand Prix with Sherlock at Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
The 58 starters were faced with a tough, 13-fence 1.55m track designed by Rafael Suarez and only four conjured up all the correct answers to qualify for the jump-off.
Harry has nurtured Sherlock slowly and the patience has started to pay off as the Bisquet Du Balou VD Mispelaere x Malito De Reve 10-year-old lived up to his promise. Using his final draw to maximum effect, Harry secured the win by 0.55 seconds – the fastest time of the class. It pushed Italy’s Lorenzo de Luca, who produced the only other double clear on Poden Farm’s F One USA, into second place.
Harry had claimed a win in Saturday's world ranking 3* 1.45m with Billabong Du Roumois.
A total of 71 competitors came forward in this two-phase class but no-one could get near Harry and the Mylord Carthago/Papillon Rouge 12-year-old as they sped to the top on the shortest of routes to win by 0.78 sec.
Lily Attwood jumped to victory in the feature grand prix in Vilamoura, Portugal, with Cor-Leon VD Vlierbeek Z.
Initially, 63 starters came forward over the world ranking 1.45m course with 16 posting first round clears to access the jump-off. Lily was in flying form and, despite stiff opposition, sneaked into the top spot on the Calvaro FC 13-year-old by a narrow 0.20 seconds.
