INGLISTON FORM PART OF GLASGOW'S BID TO HOST THE 2018 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

Tuesday 18 June 2013

Ingliston Country Club have been named as the preferred and selected Equestrian Venue in Glasgow's bid to host the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international sporting event for the best young athletes in the world.  It aims to inspire young people to participate in sport and adopt and live by the Olympic values.  Athletes compete in the same sports as the Olympic Games, whilst at the same time participating in a culture and education programme focused on Olypmic themes.

The past few months have seen Glasgow's bid to host the 2018 Youth Olypmic Games gather considerable momentum.  In April they marked another major milestone in their journey towards the 4th July and the IOC decision as the id team took part in a video conference with the YOG Evaluation Panel.

Their presentation underlines the key strengths at the heart of Glasgow 2018's vision:  a Youth Olympic Games that will empower young people around the world to become champions in their own lives.
