John Whitaker International Pony Team take third in Hagen’s Nations Cup

The John Whitaker International Pony Nations Cup Team took third in the Hagen Nations Cup last Saturday.

First to Jump for Great Britain was 16 year old Daisy Davis from Bristol riding Shaun Davis’ 12 year old bay gelding Future Interest. The pair jumped a faultless first round but had an unlucky four faults in the second.

Second to go was 13 year old Emily Roe from Lincoln riding her dad’s 13 year old grey gelding Aroldo. Emily had an unfortunate first round but rallied to complete the second round on only four faults.

Third to go was 15 year old Abigail Newbery from Southampton riding Tony Newbery’s 9 year old bay mare Pauldarys Pocket Rocket. Abigail had a disappointing first round but held it together for the second round as the pair had only one fence down.

Last to go was the ever consistent Tixylix ridden by 14 year old Jessica Mendoza from Chippenham. The fantastic duo jumped a superb first round but had an unlucky four faults in the second which was good enough to give the team third place.

The following day Great Britain’s Pony riders took part in the Pony Grand Prix where Abigail Newbery riding Pauldarys Pocket Rocket took the top spot jumping the only double clear of the competition. Jessica Menodoza riding Tixylix was not far behind finishing in third position just behind the Switzerland’s Emilie Paillot.
