As usual the stands were packed to capacity to watch the John Whitaker International Winter JA Classic Championship held in the Grand Ring at the Royal Show today. After a thrilling jump off for this, the final European Viewing Trial before the European Pony Championships being held in Moorsele, Belgium later this month, fence four was the bogey with numerous ponies coming to a standstill, only three riders managed a clear round to go through to the jump off. Jordan Nason from Doncaster, South Yorkshire was first to go on Mrs Willetts Palomino pony Gold Harvest, a veteran at 24 years of age, had four faults in a time of 55.57, second to go was Jessica Mendoza from Chippenham, Wiltshire on her mother Sarah’s feisty eleven year old chestnut mare Tixylix finishing with 4 faults in a time of 51.45 seconds, last to go Chad Fellow’s from Shifnal, Shropshire was the only double clear riding Amanda Hilliard’s twelve year old dark brown gelding Snatch in a time of 60.21 seconds 1st Chad Fellows – Snatch 0/0 60.21 seconds John Whitaker International has supplied the squad members with a stylish new kit, which includes their eye-catching riding hat, cap, blouson jacket, polo shirt and a Saddle Cloth in addition to assisting to fund the team throughout the international campaign for Gold.
