Lola Thulborn Does the Double with a win in the STX Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Coombelands Equestrian

Coombelands Equestrian also hosted the STX UK Pony Foxhunter Second Round competition at their Summer Pony Premier, where victory once again went the way of on-form Lola Thulborn.
Thirty-five combinations lined up to take on the challenging first round course; their sights set on qualification for the STX-UK Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show. Ten successfully navigated their way into the second round, this number halved for the final jump-off.
Jumping once again from mid draw, Lola proved to be unstoppable a second time this weekend, riding Remmi Bell’s Fabreeker V to another victory and second ticket to HOYS, this time by almost three seconds.
Holly Coward Talbott rode Tanya Coward Talbott’s Lottea III into second place, whilst Gabriel Colhoun picked up third with Claire Colhoun’s Elle Villanelle Z, 5.05 seconds in arrears and Lacie Williams slotting into the final qualifying spot with Sarah Stokes’ Dancing Danny as the fastest four fault round.
“I really enjoyed the jump-off; it was a good track that meant you could push on between some of the fences. Victory really enjoys galloping and he made it very easy to move between the fences,” said a delighted Lola.
“I’m so proud of how we did this weekend and so thankful to be trusted to ride such a super pony. He’s very cheeky, is aways trying to get in my pockets and will follow you round like a lost sheep. He has the biggest personality and the heart of a lion.
“I didn’t think we would win one, let alone two HOYS qualifiers this weekend. He’s got so much potential, speed and scope and we we’re just aiming for clears, but he was just perfect. I couldn’t have done it without my trainer, Tom Vance, who helped me walk the course and is always there to support me,” added Lola.
