London 2012 Team Gold Medallist Wins at the Royal Highland Show

Friday 21 June 2013

The fourth class of the International Stairway series took place today Friday 21st June at the Royal Highland Show.

In a field of 16 competitors, just two combinations managed first round clears to secure their place in the jump off for their share of the £7,500 prize pot.  In a competition which draws the five highest placed competitors through from the first round all clears it meant that three additional horses and riders were invited through based on least faults and fastest time.

It was Olympic Gold medal winner Scott Brash MBE though that thrilled the crowds by taking first with Lady Pauline Harris’s 14 year-old black gelding Hello Intertoy Z by jumping the only double clear of the competition in a time of 48.05 seconds.

Second place went to Robert Bevis partnering his own 12 year-old grey gelding Courtney 6 finished having finished on 1 time penalty.  Keith Shore riding his own 10 year-old bay gelding Mystic Hurricane finished on the four faults relegating them into 3rd place.
