Pony Update

As we head into the start of the Summer Pony Premier qualifiers please find some important updates below.

Pony Showjumper

Numbers to qualify for the Pony Showjumper class for 2024 will be:-

Top 5 from the Summer Pony Premiers - combinations cannot exceed four faults in the first round.

Top 4 from the Welsh Home Pony - combinations cannot exceed four faults in the first round.

Top 4 from the National 148cm Championship held during the British Showjumping National Championships - combinations cannot exceed four faults in the first round.

British Showjumping Pony Measuring

During meetings with vets and others involved in the measuring of ponies various queries have been raised with the FEI to ensure that both measuring systems are aligned as much as is practical.

The FEI are currently looking at making alterations or clarifications to their process and we are keen to wait until we have this confirmed before we issue the BS National Pony measuring rules.

Responsible Person

Please can you ensure that all 16yrs and under competitors have a responsible person present at shows or training when they are onsite – there have been several incidents this year where children have been left unattended whilst in charge of ponies or younger siblings. This is not acceptable and, in some cases, has led to social services becoming involved.
