Rosie Pyle from Wiltshire Wins the September NAF Shining Star Award

Rosie Pyle (14) from Wiltshire has won the NAF Shining Star Award for September 2013. Rosie is an active and committed member of the British Showjumping Wiltshire Junior Academy.

Nicky Florence, Lead Coach for the British Showjumping Wiltshire Junior Academy, nominated Rosie for the NAF Shining Star Award. Nicky has known Rosie for over three years and whilst talking about her nominee, Nicky said “Rosie is an excellent ambassador for the sport of showjumping as well as being cheerful and helpful member of the Junior Academy.

“Rosie is real team player and enjoys encouraging and supporting the others in team competitions and she hopes to do more of this next year. Rosie is a pleasure to coach and is always immaculately turned out at both shows and training. Her riding has gone from strength to strength as she is very understanding of her horse at all times and she always listens attentively to any advice that she is given.”

Rosie joined British Showjumping in 2009 and since becoming a member she has progressed from competing ponies through to taking over her mother’s ride, a horse called The Saint II. The combination have only had one pole down so far this year in competition. Rosie was thrilled to learn that she had been awarded the NAF Shining Star Award “I joined the British Showjumping Wiltshire Junior Academy as it allowed me to access the fantastic training opportunities and coaches that are available. Via the Junior Academy I am also working through the NAF Pony Five Star Performance Awards Programme and I am currently working hard to get my 3* Award. I’m also looking forward to competing in the 0.90cm Dodson and Horrell National Amateur Championship Final at Aintree Equestrian Centre in November.

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
