Squad for Rotterdam 5* Furusiyya Nations Cup Announced

Rob Hoekstra, the World Class Showjumping Performance Manager has announced his squad of five that will be travelling to Rotterdam , The Netherlands to compete in the CSIO 5* Furusiyya Nations Cup  event on Friday 21st June.

The squad are as follows:

Laura Renwick from Maldon, Essex with Oz de Breve an 11 year-old Chestnut gelding owned by David Berry.  Laura took centre stage in last week’s Nations Cup in St Gallen where she secured a win for Great Britain along with the Leading Rider title by jumping the fastest clear in the Jump Off against three other nations for first place.

Joe Clee, who is based in Belgium with his own 10 year old chestnut mare Diablesse de Muze.  As a combination they appeared in the Lummen 4* Nations Cup recently where they jumped clear in the first round.

Dan Neilson, from Billericay with Varo M, an 11 year old chestnut gelding owned by Stacy Willsone.  Last weekend saw Dan and Varo M secure 2nd place in the 1.60m Grand Prix in Bourg en Bresse, France with their double clear.

Louise Saywell from Nottingh with her father’s (Michael) 10 year old grey mare Winner IV whom Louise has produced since a novice.

William Whitaker, from Yorkshire with Elizabeth Fredlund’s 10 year old bay gelding Fandango, a horse that William has been producing since 2011.

The FEI Nations Cup takes place on Friday 21st June at 14:30 hrs local time and the Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 23rd June at 13:30hrs local time.

The British Showjumping Teams are strongly supported by the UK Sport Lottery funded BEF World Class Programme.
