Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds Continue at Arena UK

The Pony Premier Show at Arena UK in Grantham, Lincolnshire was the host show for one of the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter second rounds, which continued on Saturday 22nd June 2013. The second round proved to be popular with competitors and attracted a total of 43 eligible starters.
With three direct qualifying tickets available for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), all of the starting combinations were vying for one of these tickets.
Following a strongly fought jump off, the win was taken by 15 year-old Patrick Williams from Scotland who partnered his father’s (Patrick) 14 year-old chestnut mare G.F Cassie. The combination jumped their treble clear in 38.47 seconds, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of the second placed combination.
Second place was filled by 14 year-old Jessica Hewitt from West Yorkshire and she was competing on Nikita XIII, a 7 year-old black mare owned by Rachael Williams. Jessica and Nikita XIII stopped the clock on 41.44 seconds to secure a top two finish.
Third place was taken by 15 year-old Scarlett Worrow from Kent on board Dancing Hero, a 10 year-old grey gelding owned by David Worrow. The combination completed their treble clear in 46.76 seconds.
The first three pony and rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. The first five, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013. Ponies and riders that jump a treble clear also qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013.

The Horse of the Year Show 2013 will take place from the 9th – 13th October 2013 at the Birmingham NEC.
The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
