The Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter second rounds continued on Sunday 16th June 2013 at Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Slapton, Buckinghamshire. This second round was well supported by competitors, attracting 31 eligible starting combinations.

With three direct qualifying tickets available for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), all of the starting combinations were vying for one of these tickets.

With only three combinations making it through into the jump off, the win was taken by 15 year-old Leonie Aitkenhead from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire partnering her mother’s (Beverley Aitkenhead) 9 year-old grey roan mare Foxy Lady 55. The combination jumped the only treble clear of the class in a time of 40.54 seconds.

Second place was filled by 14 year-old Jared Lunn from Hawkwell, Essex on the 8 year-old bay mare Lahinch Katie, owned by Richard Lunn. The combination produced a fast time of 36.53 seconds, but they also collected 8 faults.

Third place was taken by 14 year-old Caitlin True from Gillingham, Kent, who was on board Honey Pot The Third, an 11 year-old grey mare owned by Terrina Roots. This combination finished on 12 faults in 46.15 seconds.

The first three pony and rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. The first five, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013.
