Team LeMieux’s Ellie Hall McAteer takes Individual 4th at the Pony European Championships
Sunday 30 July 2017

Following on from the Team Silver medal won on Friday at the Pony European Championships in Kapsovar, Hungary, Ellie Hall-McAteer narrowly missed out on an Individual medal when she finished 4th overall earlier today.
15 year-old Ellie, riding under the title sponsor banner of Team LeMieux with her mother Mandy’s chestnut mare, Tixylix, had produced faultless clear rounds across the first four of five rounds required to decide the overall Individual medal winners. However, the final round in yesterday’s final saw them unfortunately pick up 8 penalties to finish just two penalties outside of the medals.
The time, which many have said was unduly tight, forced riders to pick up the pace and it was only two of the starters that managed to achieve a clear round with the majority accruing faults due to the time restrictions imposed upon them. For Ellie, it was an uncharacteristic 8 penalties which saw them slide from pole position into 4th leaving Ireland to take the top two places with Harry Allen and Kate Derwin taking Gold and Silver respectively on an overall score of 1 time penalty for Harry and 4 penalties for Kate. Bronze went to Cora Hirn for Sweden with Miskaun Harvey on a score of 6 penalties, just two ahead of Ellie
Sharing 4th place with Ellie on the 8 penalties was Ingemar Hammerstrom for Sweden and Andrea Bach for Norway.
