WHITAKERS DOMINATE AREZZO GRAND PRIX

Twenty three year-old Ellen Whitaker from Barnsley, South Yorkshire won the Grand Prix in Arezzo, Italy at the weekend, her younger brother Joe, 21, took third position.

 

Ellen riding the thirteen-year-old chestnut gelding Equimax Occolado, a horse jointly owned by Dawn Makin and Ellen’s father Steven, set the fastest of five double clear rounds to snatch victory from Ireland’s Nicola Fitzgibbon. Joe riding Laura Johnson’s nine-year-old bay gelding Kool Kaiser, also jumped double clear to take third place.
