World's Leading Riders Arrive for Thrilling Olympic Park Debut

Some of the best riders and horses in the world have arrived at the stunning arena next to London's Olympic Stadium for four days of the highest calibre showjumping. It is the first major sporting event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park since the Games last summer.
The stage is set for the thrilling debut of the Longines Global Champions Tour in London with the €450,000 1.60m Grand Prix highlight on Saturday night and a host of VIP's, celebrities and enthusiastic spectators to cheer on the athletes.
The ranking battle will be fiers in the 4th leg of the 2013 championship series with US rider Laura Kraut fighting to hold on to her No.1 position after the first three legs. Luciana Diniz of Portugal and Brazil's Alvaro de Miranda will be piling on the pressure with Christian Ahlmann - 4th in the Longines Global Champions Tour ranking and current world No. 1 adding to the heat of the fight.
The British Gold Medal Olypmic riders will be all vying for the lions share of the takings in the Grand Prix with Nick Skelton and Big Star looking to be serious contenders following their tremendous Grand Prix win in Rome recently. Fellow team gold medallists Scott Brash and Ben Maher will also be making a welcome return to London and have their eyes firmly set on the first prize. Other riders flying the Union Flag in London will be John & Michael Whitaker, Tina Fletcher, Laura Renwick, Will Funnell, Tim Gredley, Robert Smith, Alexandra Thornton, Mark Armstrong and Sam Hutton.
