SCOTLAND’S FIRST BRITISH SHOWJUMPING LEVEL 3 STEWARD – KAZ MCCOY

We are delighted to congratulate Kaz McCoy for recently being appointed as a  British Showjumping Level 3 Steward.

Kaz has been stewarding with British Showjumping since the roles were first introduced in 2014 as a National Steward.  She has travelled the length and breadth of the UK attending shows assisting members, show organisers and officials.

Kaz has been a member of British Showjumping since 1999, her passion for the sport moved her into various roles over the years.  Starting out as a Show Secretary at Dabbs, as it was then, in 1996, becoming a Judge from 2000, to taking on the role of Fife & Angus Area Representative from 2007.  She has worked at a number of Equestrian Centres in Scotland as the Events Manager and Show Secretary.

She has become well known as a Show Convenor and Secretary over the years for several prestigious Shows in Scotland including Blair International Horse Trials, The Scottish Branch Trophy Show and The Summer Extravaganza held at the Royal Highland Showground.

Appointed as the Officials representative on the British Showjumping Members Council in 2015 where she served for two terms and was elected on to the National Sport Committee in 2019.

Adding to her list of qualifications, Kaz is also a Level 1 collecting ring steward and a FEI Level 2 steward.

“I was delighted to receive the call to tell me I was the successful applicant for the Northern Level 3 position.  I have been stewarding for 8 years and I thoroughly enjoy it.  I love the variety, one day I am with the grass roots riders and the next I am with the Elite. We are there to ensure everyone is competing on a level playing field, it is our job to ensure that welfare and wellbeing come first. I feel privileged and excited to be given this opportunity.”
