Ida Almqvist wins Twice at Pachechams

Ida Almqvist from Cobham, Surrey aged 10 secured two impressive wins last month in the Schools League at Pachesham Equestrian Centre

 

Ida Almqvist, aged 10 from Cobham, Surrey secured two impressive wins last month in the Schools 70cm and 80cm League Classes at Pachesham Equestrian Centre. Riding for Leatherhead Trinity School Ida and her pony Bureside Sundial, otherwise known as Sunny, jumped two speedy double clears to take the rosettes home.

 

Speaking afterwards about her performance Ida said “Sunny is fun and fast and a very good jumping pony. He can be naughty, but I'm learning to handle him. The competitions have a nice, friendly atmosphere and I have made lots of new friends, we all encourage each other and are happy for everybody’s success.”

 

Proud mum Suvi explained “Ida and Sunny are a new combination, it has only been a couple of months but they are already doing so well. The ‘Just for Schools’ league is a fantastic opportunity to compete at national level and for Ida to represent her school.”

 

Aiming to move up to the 90cm and 1.00m league classes Ida added “Sunny is a small pony but he can easily do that.”

 

The ‘Just for Schools’ League run by British Showjumping offers riders the chance to compete Individually or as a Team in classes ranging from 70cm to 1.10m with the chance to qualify for the British Showjumping National Championships held at Stoneleigh Park in August 2018.
