Robert Whitaker eased Chatondo into second in the Silver Tour Final on the Toscana Tour in Arezzo, Italy, by a tiny margin.
Fifteen of the original 77 starters returned for the jump-off in this 1.45m world ranking class with Robert and Caroline Blatchford’s Chacco-Blue x Cartoon 14-year-old only 0.06 seconds off the pace to settle for the runner-up position.

William Funnell guided Equine America Billy Picador into third in the 3* 1.50m in Gorla Minore, Italy.
Seventy-three riders came forward in this hotly contended two-phase class with William and the 12-year-old finishing half a second behind the joint winners, Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs on Commissar Pezi and Germany’s Michael Viehweg aboard Contario.
Adrian Speight and Alex Barr pick up world ranking points in Spain
Adrian Speight eased Judith Whitham’s Millfield Baloney into third in Thursday’s Gold 1.45m in Oliva Nova, Spain.
Thirty riders contended this 12-fence speed class with Adrian and the Balou Du Rouet x Kanudos 18-year-old jumping an easy round to finish 1.90 seconds behind the winner, British-based Irishman Richard Howley on Brendon Stud’s Pandito Van’t Merelsnest Z.
Twenty-four hours later, Alex Barr steered Havall into third in the world ranking Gold 1.45m. Fifty-seven competitors came forward in this speed class with Alex and the Zavall VDL x Quidam De Revel 14-year-old crossing the finish line more than six seconds behind the pace and just ahead of fellow Brit Fraser Reed in fourth riding Westbank Rio. Richard Howley again took the win, on this occasion riding Mansini Ltd.
