Robert Whitaker narrowly misses out on a win in Italy as we round up this week’s British results in Europe

Robert Whitaker eased Chatondo into second in the Silver Tour Final on the Toscana Tour in Arezzo, Italy, by a tiny margin.

Fifteen of the original 77 starters returned for the jump-off in this 1.45m world ranking class with Robert and Caroline Blatchford’s Chacco-Blue x Cartoon 14-year-old only 0.06 seconds off the pace to settle for the runner-up position.

William Funnell is in the money in Italy

William Funnell guided Equine America Billy Picador into third in the 3* 1.50m in Gorla Minore, Italy.

Seventy-three riders came forward in this hotly contended two-phase class with William and the 12-year-old finishing half a second behind the joint winners, Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs on Commissar Pezi and Germany’s Michael Viehweg aboard Contario.

Adrian Speight and Alex Barr pick up world ranking points in Spain
