Lucinda Stewart and Cancun II win the National 1.15m Members Cup Championship Final

Lucinda Stewart and 12-year-old Cancun II succeeded in claiming the National 1.15m Members Cup Championship Final.  A big field of sixty-five riders came forward to contest the final, with a twenty-three making it through to the jump off. With only five left to go after their second round it was a short but nervous wait for the pair before claiming their victory.

Lucinda commented on her round: “I knew he could make the time, I just had to not go too wild and jump the fences. There were only a few after me so it was a tense wait!”.

The pair have been together for six years after Lucinda bought him as a 6-year-old to produce. This is not their first attempt at this class, having come 2nd and 4th in previous years, but it is their first win. They have had their fair share of success in the past, winning the Silver League at the Horse of the Year Show. After an evening of celebrating, they will make the long, 8-hour journey back to Ayrshire in Scotland tomorrow.

Emily Morris and Bean Cruising took second place, with Olivia Sponer, riding Crazy Girl II, taking third.
