Horse of the Year Show International Invite qualifier - Incorporating the National Speed Horse Final

Today saw the second leg of the Horse of the Year Show International Invite League qualifier in take place with the National Speed Horse Final at the British Showjumping National & Academy Championships 2021. Ben Walker, riding Fygo Von D’ouwe Grint, known at Fygo at home, flew to victory finishing in just 68.52 seconds.

When asked about Fygo, Ben commented: “I had him [Fygo] as a 4-year-old, then we sold him to a client at the yard. We bought him back after he was on a successful winning streak. He is a consistent winner! Speed is definitely a strong point; he doesn’t have the biggest scope or stride, but he is speedy.”

Ben and Fygo travelled from Hertfordshire and will be competing in The British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway Final tomorrow which incorporates the final leg the Horse of the Year Show International Invite league.

As we head into tomorrow, the third and final day of the HOYS International Invite Leaugue, we will not only see the winners of the four invitations on offer, but one of them will also be crowned the new British Showjumping National Champion for 2021.
