Samantha Baker Lands the Top Spot in the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round at Cherwell Competition Centre

Samantha Baker from Horsham, West Sussex landed the top spot in the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round on Downtown Disco at Cherwell Competition Centre. The win gains them access to the final at the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur & Veteran Championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool on 16th – 20th November.
Twelve riders gained access to the jump-off to fill the twelve qualifying places with Samantha taking victory from mid-draw, posting a quick, decisive round on Sally Cooper’s Downtown Disco, a 6 year-old bay mare she has produced for the past two years. The combination secured their double clear in 41.74 seconds.
Clara Peake from Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire chased hard but finished just short of the target time, taking second by 0.94 of a second on her own 14 year-old Valleys Sent, a liver chestnut mare she has competed for the last six years.
Stuart Adamson from Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire jumped a steadier double clear to take third on his own 7 year-old bay Armitage daughter Poplars Little Secret, a further 4.33 seconds in arrears.
