WHAT A SHOW

Area North & East Yorkshire (Area 15 & 15a) hosted their annual show at Allerton Park over the Bank Holiday weekend which included two tickets to the much sort after Newcomers Final at HOYS.

A huge thanks to our much appreciated sponsors Wetherby Skip Services, The Fishermans Wife, HK Horses, David Hopkinson, JM Equestrian, Barkers of  Northallerton and Abba Stud. Thank you also to Ian Clarke our Course Builder & Spider his assistant, Chris Jopling, Jenny Graham & Alan Mewse our judges and Malcolm Levitt for his super commentary over the weekend. Frank Grunnill our collecting ring steward, Janice Mewse Secretary & Sue Leighton.  A large thank you also to John and Janet sissons for their help with catering. And thank you to all our other helpers including Paul, Roberto and David. Special thanks to Patrick Swiers for ensuring we had such great ground for the two days of jumping. Thanks to the Area Committe and of course to Lynne Barker our Area Representative who co ordinated the whole weekend.

 

From a field of 41 starters consistent winner both here and abroad Annabel Shields and her father Roberts Capriole 11 took a very competitive class to secure her ticket to HOYS. Annabel says the horse is a machine and ultra careful and very laid back. She has only had the ride for five weeks in which time she has gained her required two dc Newcomers and 3 dc Foxhunters. Nicky from National sponsors Red Mills was on hand to present Annabel with a Championship Rug and Rosette and many thanks to Wetherby Skip Services who sponsored the class.
An ecstatic Stephen Lohoar and his own Gizmo V111 took the second ticket making his trip down south worthwhile from Drumcarrow Equestrian in the East of Scotland.
