Andrew Saether Secures Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round Win at Waterford Equestrian Centre

The Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round held at Waterford Equestrian Centre in County Durham on Sunday 31st May was won by Andrew Saether and Ultimate B and they off stiff competition from forty-seven other starters.
All of the combinations came forward with the hope of delivering a treble clear as this would secure a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the British Showjumping National Championships this August. Ten combinations duly delivered this result.
Andrew Saether, aged 42, from Barrow-Upon-Humber, South Humberside secured first place with Audrey Hunt’s 8 year-old grey mare Ultimate B after the combination produced their treble clear in a time of 38.47 seconds. Andrew and Ultimate B were the only ones to break the 40.00 second barrier and their time gave them a three second cushion.
Commenting on his win, Andrew said “I was drawn twelfth to go and I had just seen the combination in front of me take the lead. I believed that I could push Ultimate B to go quicker and although it was our first attempt at qualifying, my strategy paid off. I have only had the ride on her for the past month, so I am just getting to know her, but she did brilliantly on Sunday.”
Charlotte Arnold, aged 22, from Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland took second on her own 6 year-old chestnut gelding Quinu De Pravia. This combination produced their third and final clear round in 41.89 seconds.
Third place went to 27 year-old Samantha Jimmison from Doncaster, South Yorkshire with Dipinahoe, a 7 year-old black mare owned by Rachael Evison. They produced their treble clear in 42.14 seconds
Eleven combinations from this second round will now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2015 will take place during the 11th – 16th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
