Codham Park Equestrian Centre Hosts the Final NAF Five Star Bronze and Silver League Direct Qualifiers

As anticipation builds for the NAF Five Star Semi-Finals this weekend at Chard Equestrian and Northcote Stud, riders at Codham Park Equestrian Centre had their final opportunity to secure a spot via the NAF Five Star Summer Bronze and Silver League Direct Qualifiers.

NAF Five Star Bronze League Qualifier

The day began with the Bronze League riders taking to the arena. Thirty-eight competitors tackled the 1.05m track, with 18 producing initial clear rounds. Of those, seven advanced to the jump-off to vie for the three semi-final places on offer.

Nottingham-based Chloe Burns proved to be the best on the day, piloting her own 17-year-old Irish-bred gelding, Mr Jaco, around the shortened course to set a sizzling standard that no one could match. The established pair crossed the finish line in a time of 33.38 seconds.

Chloe was one of three riders to achieve a triple clear in the class. Michaela Russell secured second place on her own Mr Overlord, with a final jump-off time of 35.14 seconds, while Maisie Voyce finished third aboard her own Quando De La Casa Nova, a further 7.16 seconds off the pace.

NAF Five Star Summer Silver League Qualifier

Following the Bronze League, it was time for the Silver League riders to take to the arena. Twenty-six combinations stepped forward to contend the 1.15m track, with 20 jumping into round two on first-round clears. Eventually, nine riders accessed the jump-off to battle it out for the top three semi-final qualifying places. With four producing triple clears, the results would come down to the clock.

Lauren Ross, who hails from Essex, found the shortest route of the afternoon to secure victory over her competitors by 1.77 seconds, riding her own 12-year-old Dutch-bred mare, Irena G.

Fred Rimell steered Nina Wisnia’s Aida Z into second place, crossing the finish in 36.00 seconds, while Chloe Thomas filled the third spot aboard Ava Pannell’s Tesio P, finishing a further 5.98 seconds in arrears.
