Morgan Thompson Takes the Top Spot in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Scottish National Equestrian Centre

The top spot in Sunday’s Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in West Lothian was taken by Morgan Thompson after she produced the fastest treble clear of the competition.
Each of the twenty-five starters were competing with the aim of delivering a treble clear as this would secure a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships in August.
From the initial starting field, ten combinations headed through to the final jump off and nine went on to produce that desired treble clear.
Morgan Thompson from Dundee, Angus took the win with her treble clear in 34.33 seconds. Morgan was riding her grandmother Anne’s 9 year-old bay mare Wkd Cosmopolitan and the combination rose to the challenge of securing that final clear in a quick time.
Following the competition, Morgan said “The competition in the jump off was really strong but Wkd Cosmopolitan jumped brilliantly. The course suited her really well as she’s compact and quick, so I was able to save time as we jumped round.”
Mark Turnbull from Dunfermline, Fife took second on Tom Wallace’s 6 year-old bay gelding Ethan. This combination produced their third and final clear round in 34.43 seconds to finish just 0.10 seconds behind the victors.
Finishing in third was Kelly Connor-Baillie from Cardenden, Fife with her own 6 year-old bay gelding Extra Time. Their treble clear was delivered in 36.37 seconds.
Nine combinations from this second round now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2015 will take place during the 11th – 16th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
