Chloe Templeton takes the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round at Highfield at Howe
Monday 31 July 2023
Chloe Templeton claimed victory in the final Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round of 2023 at Highfield at Howe Equestrian Centre, Fife, with the home-bred Mizzella.
Sixteen hopefuls came forward over a 1m course in a bid to qualify for the Championship Final at the British Showjumping National Championships, Stoneleigh, and these were halved to eight for round two. All eight again produced clean rounds to go forward into the third and final round against the clock.
Dunfermline-based Chloe maintained tight lines to win with 0.60 seconds to spare on the Zambesi TN x Landor S 6-year-old mare bred at the family home.
“I kept tight all the way and I can trust her to move on at the fences as she’s super-careful. She can be a little quirky and sharp, but it all works in her favour, she’s got the makings of a very nice horse,” said Chloe, who has taken over the reins from sister Laura. “Laura started her off but she’s now expecting a baby so I’m enjoying the ride. We’ll aim for the 6-year-old classes at Bolesworth after the National Championships.”
Nicole Stewart steered Ballyvadd Cushla into second and Mischa Irving claimed third aboard Newroel.
