Matthew Sampson & Roi Take Third in the CSI 3* La Capelle Grand Prix

Matthew Sampson from Sheffield, South Yorkshire finished third in yesterday's 1.50m Grand Prix held at the CSI 3* La Capelle show in France. He took his podium place on board Reiko Takedo’s 11 year-old chestnut gelding Roi IV.
From an initial starting field of fifty-four combinations, fourteen made it through to the jump off and it was the home riders that dominated the top two places. Alexandra Francart with Quelstar Du Vic Bilh and Timothee Anciaume with Padock Du Plessis*HN took first and second place respectively with quick double clears.
Matthew and Roi IV delivered their double clear in 49.15 seconds to finish in third ahead of Ireland’s Michael Duffy and Miss Untouchable.
