Pony showjumping success at The London International Horse Show

Day 4 of The London International Horse Show started in style with the 128cm Mini Stakes, on Sunday 18 December. Portia Taylor-Wilson coaxed a wonderful performance out of 24-year-old Ballybur Oh Jessie, owned by Rebecca Clay, to take the win.

Just two combinations from 11 starters went clear, with Portia being joined in the jump-off by Isabelle James-Wright, who piloted Katherine James’ Murphy Spartacus. Isabelle set the pace, producing a quick clear round. However, Portia gave it everything she had and knocked 2 seconds off Isabella’s time to take the win. Taylie-Rae Owen finished third, riding Kimberley Bailey’s Hardwickview Yen Man, as the fastest rider with four faults in the first round.

A busy afternoon saw Tabitha Kyle, riding TJ Hall’s Atomic du Barry, storm to victory in the Voltaire Design 148cm Mini Stakes.

Second to go among six talented combinations in the jump-off, Tabitha had it all to do to put pressure on those who followed her. Aimee Paxton, riding Lucy Simpson’s Las Vegas VI, was hot on her heels, but couldn’t quite match the speed of Tabitha Kyle, finishing in second place. Kieran Taylor and Heidi Taylor's Magic Cornflakes finished third as the fastest rider with four faults in the jump off.
