Third Place for Karl Robins in the Madrid Grand Prix

The CSIO3* Grand Prix took place today at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Karl Robins from Gawcott, Buckinghamshire ended his show on a high by taking third place in the 52,000€ competition with his own 11-year-old bay mare Equine America G Camille HBF.
The thirteen fence 1.50m track designed by Isabel Fernández de Cañete & Team whittled the fifty-seven starters down to just seven clears in the first round. From his mid-way draw, Karl and Equine America G Camille HBF took an early lead with a well-calculated clear round in a time of 42.87 seconds. The combinations that followed matched the zero score but bettered the leading time for Karl to finish in third position. The win went to Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) aboard Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot with a double clear in 39.82 seconds, while Duarte Seabra (POR) took second place with HHS Washington with a double clear in a time of 42.62 seconds.
