Emma-Jo Slater Triumphs in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Codham Park Equestrian

Emma-Jo Slater got her Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship campaign off to a flying start on Saturday after triumphing in the second round held at Codham Park Equestrian.
Forty starters made the journey to the Essex based venue and each and every starter was hoping to leave with a treble clear under their belt as this would guarantee them a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the British Showjumping National Championships this summer.
Following two competitive rounds of jumping, just under half of the starting field made it through into the final jump off and eight combinations went on to secure that sought after treble clear.
Emma-Jo, who is from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire took victory on board Robert Crisp’s 7 year-old bay mare April Love. The pair are the reigning Senior British Novice Champions and they continued their run of good form on Saturday, delivering a treble clear in 49.46 seconds. Emma-Jo and April Love were drawn last to go in each of the rounds and they used this draw to their advantage, pipping their rivals by just 0.2 of a second.
Second place was taken by Harry Bateman from Hockley, Essex and he secured his top two finish on Havanna, a 4 year-old bay mare owned by Ingrid Wood. A treble clear in 49.66 seconds saw this combination finish just behind the leaders.
Thomas Plaster from Chigwell, Essex took his place inside the top three after producing a treble clear in 52.95 seconds with Nicola Dole’s 8 year-old bay gelding Lovini.
With another five combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of eight combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2016 will take place during the 9th – 14th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
