Harry Bateman Takes Pole Position in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Quainton Stud

Spectators were treated to well fought out Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round on Saturday at Quainton Stud in Buckinghamshire and it was Harry Bateman who eventually topped the leader board from the seventy-two starters.
With each rider concentrated on securing a treble clear, a result which would see them a take a spot in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, an exciting thirty-seven horse jump off unfolded in which twenty-six treble clears were clocked up. These riders achieved their place in the Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships this summer.
Harry, who is from Hockley, Essex, was the only rider able to deliver a treble clear in less than forty seconds on Saturday and he did so on his own 4 year-old chestnut mare, Zuniek Van De Tojopehoeve Z. This combination was drawn to go around the midway point of the jump off and their round proved to be quick enough to ensure that they could not be beaten. Their time of 37.91 seconds saw them finish over four seconds ahead of their nearest rivals.
Ryan O’Sullivan from Beedon, Berkshire took second place on Kec Serenade, an 8 year-old chestnut mare owned by Ross Irving. Ryan made the most of a late draw in the jump off and after seeing a number of treble clears produced before him; he knew that only a quick and clean round would do. Ryan steered his ride with accuracy to secure a third clear round in 41.95 seconds.
Third place was taken by Emma Mcglynn from Alyesbury, Buckinghamshire on Lycolas, a 6 year-old dapple grey mare owned by Amanda Mcglynn. The pair took their place inside the top three with a treble clear in 43.46 seconds.
With another twenty-three combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of twenty-six combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
