Kerrie Goodwin Takes Victory in Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre
Tuesday 03 May 2016

Kerrie Goodwin from St Albans, Hertfordshire kicked off this year’s Horseware Bronze League Qualifiers in fine style, taking victory on Saturday at Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre in Cambridgeshire.
A keen field of fifty-two combinations began the class and each rider was focused on securing one of three sought after qualification spots for the Horseware Bronze League Semi Finals, which will run in August. Thirty three determined combinations made it through to the jump off and the action really picked up pace.
Kerrie Goodwin riding her own Roscoes Golani, a 20 year-old chestnut gelding, produced a consistent clear in the first round to secure their place in the sizable jump off. After being drawn towards the end of the jump off, Kerrie held her nerve to produce another clear in the lightning fast time of just 30.41 seconds, giving her the much desired top spot.
Second place went to Elizabeth Mantel from Reading, Berkshire on board Stephen Mantel’s Caoimhes Delight, a 12 year-old dark bay mare. Elizabeth and Caoimhes Delights gave a clean performance in both rounds, narrowly missing out on the win with a time of 31.93 seconds, just fractionally behind Kerrie.
Luke Humphrey from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire took the third and final qualifying place of the class. Riding his own Soraja, a 17 year-old dark bay mare, they produced two clear rounds and posted a jump off time of 32.47 seconds.
