Lottie Tutt on Top Again with a Win in the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Pyecombe Horse Show

With the second rounds now in full swing, Sunday saw a strong field of thirty-two combinations battle it out for the top spot in the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Round held at Pyecombe Horse Show in Pyecombe, West Sussex.

Each starter began the class with their fingers and hooves crossed, hoping to grab one of only three direct qualifying places available for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final held at this October’s Horse of the Year Show. Following a nail biting first two rounds of the class, nine combinations achieved two clears and this saw them go through to the final jump off.

Fourteen year-old Lottie Tutt from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire continued her winning streak, this time on board Colours of Romeo a 9 year-old appaloosa mare owned by Pene Grimster. This combination produced three superb clear rounds and being drawn first in the final jump off did not faze either of them as they produced a lightening round on 32.34 seconds, a time that no one else managed to beat.

Second place was secured by 14 year-old Antonia Platt from Chelmsford, Essex riding Sligo Furisto Flight, an 11 year-old bay mare owned by Rosalind Platt. This pair was hot on the heels of Lottie throughout the class, producing three clears in a time of 33.97 seconds to just push them into second place.

Taking third place and the final qualifying spot for the Horse of the Year Show was 13 year-old Oliver Fletcher from Farringdon, Oxfordshire. On board Graham Fletcher’s 8 year-old bay gelding The Bobster, the pair produced three consistent clear rounds and they posted a time of 36.07 seconds.

With the three direct qualifying tickets for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show having been allocated, the combinations in fourth and fifth took home the chance to compete in the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
